Mount the meter within 6 degrees of true vertical, with the inlet at the bottom and outlet at the top.
Support the process piping so it does not impose undue strain on the flowmeter.
Keep the protective sleeve installed, secure the meter windows, avoid pressure and flow surges, and never service the meter while pressurized.
The 250°F (121°C) rating is a structural family limit. The manual specifically prohibits water above 140°F, steam, alkalis, fluorine, hydrofluoric acid, molten metal, toxic fluids, and fluids that react chemically with glass.
Drain an isolated liquid-filled meter in a bypass loop to prevent glass-tube breakage from thermal expansion.
Install new inlet and outlet O-rings whenever the meter is removed for service, then hydrostatically pressure-test it before returning it to operation.
